FIRST MEETING JANUARY 23, 2014 (RSVP BY DECEMBER 20)

by OEVCA President Jenny Diplock

The Old East Village has been presented a unique opportunity to continue defining itself, and all Villagers are invited to participate.

Starting in 2014, the OEV will be the subject of a "Neighbourhood Safety Plan" facilitated by the City of London, but made up of people who live, work, and play in the Village. The attendees of an initial, exploratory meeting voted to include ANYONE who is willing to be a part of this initiative throughout the process. That means committing to a meeting once a month for 6 months with the first meeting Thursday, 23 January, 2014.

This is an opportunity to create an "Old East Solution" to the real and perceived issues that affect the OEV, but only if Villagers get engaged, and so the OEVCA strongly encourages all members of the community to be a part of this task force. No other political experience or interest is required: just a willingness to work with others to make the Old East Village a great place to visit, and an even better place to live.

Please note, this is a task force "of the people," facilitated by the City, and the OEVCA is not in charge. To join up and serve as a citizen, email  This email address is being protected from spambots.  Feel free to share this invitation amongst your own Old East Village contacts, and thank you for considering this important task. I look forward to seeing many of you at the first meeting January 23rd.
